If gentle, sweet, optimistic Mickey Mouse was the Disney of the 1930s, Donald Duck was the Disney of the 1940s. Impatient, quick tempered, easily frustrated, often angry, Donald took Disney and America to war. … Though it is difficult imagining Mickey Mouse getting Adolf Hitler in the crosshairs of a rifle and pulling the trigger, it takes no great leap to envision Donald taking the shot.
